Corn Snake Encounter




The Corn Snakes or Red Rat Snakes are one of the most beautiful and beneficial wild snakes and its always a joy to see one even briefly. Not as common around the Backyard as in past years they and Black Racers are one of the favorite foods of Red Shouldered Hawks. This one was sleeping in the crotch of a palmetto branch that I cut down so he basically fell on my, luckily it wasn't injured by the saw. Never kill these pretty reptiles just let them be or in this case pick them up and take them to the back fence away from trouble.
