Six Tree Swallow Babies Just Hatched

Six Tree Swallow eggs have just hatched in the nest box and they are about the smallest, most helpless and most precious hatching I have seen. The nest is full of bird feathers and the only way I could get a camera in there is with an endoscope attached to cell phone. Both parents are extremely attentive and protective.

Woodpeckers Live Nest Camera

Red Bellied Woodpeckers moved into the nest box after the Screech Owls left and now have two eggs - Surprise! Expect at least two more eggs with the first hatching around the 4th of July and then leaving the box toward the end of July. Woodpeckers are large, very loud and charismatic birds and the male is very involved in caring for the eggs and raising the hatchlings so this should be a lot of fun ! The male has the full red head and the female a white forehead so they are easy to tell apart on the color outside camera. Pay close attention and you'll catch the male sitting on the eggs at times. You can use the slider at the bottom of the video and go back and review the past 12 hours. Giant Creature Flattens Trail Camera

Amazing close-up in 4K UHD! Blue Jays bird bath is rudely interrupted by the largest creature in the forest crashing in and proceeding to try and destroy the trail camera. Inquisitive smellers of small things despite their huge size this is about as close a look as you'll ever get - or want - of a wild elk. Indigo Bunting Mini Documentary

A stunning male Indigo Bunting makes a rare visit to the Florida Backyard on his way back north and is much cause for excitement - as he outshines his flashy relatives the Painted Buntings for one day. Indigo buntings are exclusively migratory, moving south in winter, north in spring at night, navigating by the stars. Their summer range covers most the United States east of the Rockies and extends into the Southwest. They're also found in southern Canada. In winter, they retreat southward into Mexico, the Caribbean and Central America. They are small birds, about five inches long, with a wingspan of less than nine inches. Indigo buntings appear stocky for their size. Males are the ones with the color, including some black striping in the wings. Females are a dull brown, with some color in the breast. Blue indigos aren't birds of the deep forest but rather brushy areas and thickets. Filmed with Canon R6 on Amazon at: https://amzn.to/3iK7E1p Commission Earned 🔴 New HD videos uploaded weekly. Night Moves - American Woodcock Walk

Rare pre-dawn capture of the American Woodcock - a strange and fascinating bird to find deep in the Smoky Mountain forests where it breeds in summer. Almost never seen in the forest, I was lucky to capture one foraging early in the morning along the stream bed right in front of the Stream CAM. A bit overexposed due to being inches away, but it allows us a very rare view into how these unique birds walk and forage, in this case, for critters between the small rocks and sandy muck along the stream bed with their slow motion rocking "walk". That crazy bird singing in the forest is a Robin as part of the pre-pre-dawn chorus , some of you can probably relate to that. Also known as a Timberdoodle, Bogsucker, and Labrador Twister - the American Woodcock is a bird I hope returns to the stream in the daytime for a closer look. Tree Swallows Building a Nest

A pair of Tree Swallows are building a nest in a Bluebird/Wren nest box in the Backyard. They are stunning and fascinating little birds. Although it is a bluebird box, I don't have the habitat for bluebirds in the mountains, but the house is suitable for many small birds. Brown Thrasher's Smack or Smacking Call

The stunning Brown Thrasher is known for out-singing its fellow mimics the Mockingbird, but they also make a unique loud, singular call often referred to as a "smack" call. You may hear this strange call around the Backyard and not know where it is coming from. Here is a great example of that call and of course the gorgeous bird making it. In this case the call is likely a contact call during the nesting season as the Thrasher prepares to visit the feeder for food for the little ones. I would love to find their nest, but they are experts at hiding them. Filmed with Canon SX70HS on Amazon at: https://amzn.to/2QftDPd Commission Earned 🔴 New HD videos uploaded weekly. Tree Swallow Song and Calls

A Male Tree Swallow singing his heart out as he introduces a female to a Backyard nest box and defends his territory for mating. The Male Tree Swallow's song and call is sweet, but sort of gibberish-like and similar to the male house wrens incessant babbling under similar circumstances.
