Feral Tomcat Scent Sprays "His" Jungle

Shake that erect tail and that right leg to prime the scent pump and then let fly an amazing stream of absolutely foul smelling urine mixed with cat scent to mark his territory. If you have never seen this cat behavior in the wild before it is rather impressive. This guy has twice escaped traps and he leaves no doubt when he marks his territory. This is the same cat that did battle with a raccoon almost a year ago at: https://youtu.be/TDER8_mwPd8 To be continued..... Mourning Dove Couple Behavior

Campark T100 4K 30MP WiFi Bluetooth Trail Game Camera

Mourning doves often form a new pair bond each breeding season and many birds re-pair with the same mate. The birds spend nearly all their time together and this video is a good example. In warmer areas like Florida most pairs of Mourning doves remain together year round. They often display affection for each other and preen and cuddle. They may coo at each other although in this video vocalization is very low and sparse. They are just chilling out enjoying each others company. They can produce 3 to 6 broods a year. Grackle Versus Woodpecker

Campark TC06 4k 60MP Wifi Dual Lens Trail Camera With Color Night Vision

Fascinating Bird Behavior! In the fast-paced bird world a 40 second standoff is an eternity. The Big Cheese Grackle of the small Backyard family can really dominate some of the feeders, even owning the Blue Jays. But when the Red Bellied Woodpeckers want to come in to a feeder for a visit they expect the other big birds to clear out of the way. Surprisingly rather than leave, this big Grackle attacks, then tries to intimidate the woodpecker through a long classic stare-down and then attacks again, but no backyard bird dislodges a big woodpecker, the Woody hangs and takes the platform. Coopers Hawk Preys on White Winged Dove

Campark TC06 4k 60MP Wifi Dual Lens Trail Camera With Color Night Vision

A Coopers hawk is one of the few avian predators stealthy and agile enough to hunt for birds in the dense jungle undergrowth. Here a small clearing near a major animal trail intersection is one of the few open places and attracts birds and small mammals as well as the predators who prey upon them. Coopers Hawks have a preference for doves, especially the bigger White Winged Doves. They hold down larger prey like these big doves until they pass then fly away with them. Eastern Meadowlark Songs and Calls

Variety of sounds of Eastern Meadowlarks singing and calling. Eastern Meadowlarks dominate the soundscape of Florida grasslands, ranch lands and grassy marshlands and especially in the few large areas of remaining prairie in Florida. These stunning birds sing their beautiful flutelike songs from perches with good vantage points such as isolated scrub trees and bushes in grassland and fence posts on range and farm land. They do sing all winter in Florida where they are permanent residents, but really increase their singing activity in the spring breeding season. They are not too likely to visit backyard feeders unless you are fortunate enough to live near some wide open spaces like a farm or ranch house or perhaps on a very large suburban lot on the order of 5 acres or so. An Eastern Meadowlark male can sing many different variations of its famous flutelike song. You'll hear a number of variations in the following clips. They also have a variety of calls that you'll hear such as chattering or short buzzes for contact or when they are alarmed or perhaps irritated by photographers in their remote habitat. A member of the Blackbird family their bright-yellow underparts and striking black chevron across their chests really sticks out when perching. But they spend most of the time on the ground in the grass probing for insects with their long, sharp bills. On the ground, their rather common looking brown-and-black striped upperparts serve well to camouflage the birds among the grass. You can spot their white outer tail feathers easier when they are on the ground. I find their long claws fascinating – probably good for grasping onto to spindly perches and scratching about among the grass for bugs. Interestingly, there is a very similar, but unrelated bird of the east African grasslands that is called the Yellow-throated Longclaw Most of the meadowlarks I meet live in the vast open windy prairie and attempts to isolated the meadowlarks songs and calls and filter out wind noise - even when using wind screens are not always successful so forgive the occasional strange sound in the background. Meadowlark populations are declining due to habitat loss. Baby Squirrel Rescue Documentary

Mother Gray Squirrel chases a Screech Owl out of his box in mid December and proceeds to make a nest and deliver two kits or kittens as baby squirrels are called at the end of December. The Florida Backyard squirrels usually have two liters a year in early spring and Fall. Late December is an odd time for a squirrel to be giving birth. I can't recall that happening before. In any case, something bad happened to the mother are her helpless kits had to be rescued. If you ever drop off an animal for care at a wildlife rehabilitation center please remember to give a generous donation. They are typically non-profit, staffed largely by volunteers and have limited budgets and any donations really help out in their mission of caring for animals.
