    We currently have a nesting going on but we are using an outside camera. What are you using for inside the box? I would love to install one next season. Fantastic videos!

    I use these borescope snake cameras https://amzn.to/2VMXkLg and drill a hold in the box to insert them - they just attached directly to a usb port of a laptop or PC and you can even use them direct to your phone, but I don't think you can broadcast from the phone. good luck

    Last season our screech owls hatched 3 eggs but our trailcam only picked up two leaving the nestbox. The 3rd one of the bunch seemed much younger in appearance than the first two. When we opened the box up to clean it out after they were gone, we expected to find the little one dead but the box was empty. When your two didn't make it due to the bugs, what happened to them? Did the parents remove it from the nest box or did the siblings eat it?

      I expected mom to either remove them or eat them but I had to reach in and remove them after two days as their presence was fouling the nest box and attracting more bugs and then I sprayed some organic tick/mosquito spray all around the outside of the box and on the inside lid that used rosemary and other non toxic natural oils to repel bugs and that seemed to help the little owlet with bugs and it turned out healthy. In your case Mom probably removed it or ate it and passed it outside like they do every evening. BB
