Cute Cotton Rat in the Backyard

I found this little guys secret grass tunnel into the Backyard back fence from the conservation area. These are native grass loving rats and use grass tunnels to get around. As rats go Cotton Rats which live naturally in the conservation area are kind of cute and if you landscape right wont come anywhere near the house as they are very cautious about predators since they are the bottom of the food chain. They are about the size of a Chipmunk and never get far from the safety of the fence. Here is a video of one meeting a squirrel back in the palmetto forest where they spend most of their time: https://youtu.be/NGPaj2RWLA4
