Florida Screech Owl Nest Box Live Stream

Live Eastern Screech Owl Nest Camera Live Stream. Mother Screech Owl incubates the eggs and feeds the owlets. She leaves at dusk revealing the eggs and owlets and then returns and the Father owl brings lizards and various other treats throughout the night. First Owlet hatched on 3/31, the second on April 1st - the third on April 2nd,  the remaining egg should hatch on the 3rd or 4th or it will be too late. They will fledge or leave the nest around the end of April probably around the 26th or 27th.

Although this URL stays the same every once in awhile the stream resets and starts over with a fresh chat and numbers count which is unfortunate but you can be assured you are always on the current live stream with the link above. After a session ends it is turned into a YT video for posterity and can be replayed including Chat comments.

You can launch the YT miniplayer from the bottom right below the red line which will open up a dedicated window so you can watch the owls while doing other things on your PC.

If you miss something that happened in the nest box or want to catch up this stream has DVR enabled, so you can back up the video as much as four hours.  Hover your mouse pointer over the red timeline at the bottom of the screen and move your pointer over it to decide how far to back up.  Then click “LIVE” (just below the red line) when you want to return to the real time stream.

This big Fish Crow and Squirrel encounter at the "squirrel" feeding station did not go like I thought it would. But this is just the first of many such encounters likely to come as a mating pair of big boisterous Fish Crows have decided to build a nest high in a Backyard pine tree which is quite exciting. Once the crows learn the lay of the land they will take charge, it will be interesting to see how the Blue Jays adapt - more on the crows nest in the future.

Mother Screech Owl is sitting on four eggs and Father Owl brings here a nice tasty lizard for a snack. Some nice screech owl calls between the two. Weather is mild, food is plentiful so it will be interesting to see if this is the first year that we get 4 owlets to hatch. If we end up with 4 its going to be wild in the nest box!

Mother screech owl is in the nest box sitting on three eggs which should start hatching around the end of March while Mr. screech owl roosts in a cypress tree overlooking the nest box so they can see and "talk" to each other through the day. Once its dark he starts hunting for food to feed Mom.
