Test of Sirui T 024 Series Light Carbon Fiber Tripod with VA 5 Fluid Head

My Squirrel, Blue Jay and Crow friends have fun testing and reviewing the Sirui lighweight carbon fiber travel tripod and ultra compact Video Head in Florida and the NC Mountains. Provided by the manufacturer to test out, the quality is high and the performance very nice as you'll see. This would be a good setup for superzoom point and shoots like the Canon SX70 and Nikon P1000, but also the newer lightweight mirrorless full frame cameras with lighter telephoto lenses. I test it to the weight limit with a DSLR and big zoom lense.

Blue Jays Fear Banana

Blue Jays Fear Banana

The Blue Jays in Florida went "bananas" for banana rubbed in bird seed see:https://youtu.be/tvRk0Lbz_4c
but the Mountain Blue Jays are having none of it - what is that alien thing on the feeder? They can't relax until it is gone from their sight. Blue Jays are such unique characters.

Teaching Chipmunks to Feed From Your Hand

Teaching Chipmunks to Feed From Your Hand

Part 1 of the Hand Feeding Chipmunks Challenge. Up in the mountains I "train" 3 young chipmunks to eat sunflower seeds out of my hand in about an hour and a half - or maybe they train me. This was a blast - the sensation of their tiny paws, cold nose and "vacuuming" action on my hand was precious. You'll also hear a lot of good bird calls in the background. Stay tuned for part 2!

House Finch Call

House Finch Call

The sound of a House Finch calling is not going to blow you away, but they are sweet and similar to the contact type calls you hear from Goldfinches. House Finches love to raise their broods right on or around out houses and are such earnest and friendly birds.

Three Screech Owl Fledglings Visit the Backyard

Three Screech Owl Fledglings Visit the Backyard

The three Screech Owl kids are alive and well and all paid a special visit to the Backyard with their Dad the other evening. I was fortunate to be able to get in on video in the fading light so you all could see them, especially those who watched the live feed of the development. Most of the quality time was spent with the eldest and largest "Riker " but at the end the little one "Finito" made a brief appearance. All is well!
