The Backyard Bird Spring Dawn Chorus is at peak intensity now in the Great Smoky Mountains! One of Nature's most amazing aural spectacles! Just relax and listen. If you have never heard it before you are in for a treat. It starts when it is still too dark to video and reaches its crescendo just before sunrise. Spring is the best time to hear it as the males are defending territory and attracting mates. You may hear some songs and calls you may never have heard before especially between about 5:00 to 7:00 it sounds like a human whistling.
