Can we all just agree that Virginia Opossums are just downright cute and lovable? True they have the most sharp teeth of any mammal (50) and they have huge front feet and long claws on the back for digging, but they are rare North American marsupials with opposable thumbs just like us and those cute ears and eyes and pink nose - rarely seen in the daytime around here who can resist their charm as it finishes up the left over crows kibbles and bits. Perhaps it is that hairless tail that turns some people off? Possums are also good to have around the Backyard as they keep the venomous snakes in check they eat cockroaches, rats and mice and help to keep tick populations down so if you see a possum enjoy and say thank you.
