The Loquat fruit is all ripe and some of the squirrels appreciate a nice juicy and healthy meal. Loquat trees provide a bonanza of fresh fruit in early spring for mammals and birds and after the fruit is gone the multitude of large leftover seeds are enjoyed by the squirrels and rabbits are enjoyed through early summer as they dry out - very little is gone to waste.
