Caught red-handed! One of my backyard squirrel buddies manages to get inside a caged "squirrel-proof" bird feeder, but can't quite remember how to get back out. I should say that I love this bird feeder for Painted Buntings and finches and the reason the squirrel was able to get in was I had it hanging right over a fence in the daytime for the Buntings. So to be totally squirrel proof it still needs to be used with a squirrel baffle - its primary purpose is to have a safe place to eat for the tiny birds!
