The American Goldfinch and Pine Siskin spring migration was pretty impressive in mid to late April
up in the North Carolina Mountains.
One day in early April the resident House Finch couple that call the Backyard home all year were set upon by their avian relatives by the dozens. For two weeks it was several pounds of sunflower chips a day eaten by the hungry finches on their way north and also a lot of stops for water at the mountain stream.
