Birds attacking their own reflections in windows or mirrors during the spring breeding season to ward off rivals and defend their territory when hormones are raging is a well known and frequently observed phenomena. But I have never seen a bird exhibit this type of behavior on their wintering grounds until this December 18th. The increasing ferocity of a yellow throated warbler attacking its reflection for 10 minutes in a Campark TC06 trail camera https://shrsl.com/3nk72 that I use to observed birds is quite remarkable and not easily explained.
