Movies For Cats - Wild Nocturnal Mouse Chase
Film Noir for your cat, dog or you in 4K UHD! Gritty, realistic nocturnal mice activity with a wider ground level field of view designed for cats with real sounds of the night. Cats naturally hunt at twilight and evening - and they don't see bright colors like we do - they see the world best in shades of blue/violet and gray. So try something different from all those bright, sunny, color-filled close-up movies for cats out there on the internet. To play this video in a loop for your cat simply right-click on the video while its playing and select "loop". Give this a try on the big screen and let me know how it goes.

Female Moose Eating Willow Tree Shoots
A female moose is gorging on tender willow shoots by stripping all the leaves off a branch in one slick motion leaving the stem behind to grow again. Filmed at Grand Teton National Park along the banks of the Snake River in September 2021.

Stunning Wild Bird Bath - Northern Flicker and Cedar Waxwings
Few Backyard Songbirds are more stunning than the Yellow-Shafted Northern Flicker and Cedar Waxing, especially when filmed together in 4K while bathing at a natural mountain spring. A Tennessee Warbler and Swainson's Thrush stop by for good measure.

Squirrel Eats Wild Mushrooms #Shorts
Gray Squirrel shows the proper way to enjoy a tasty wild mushroom. They know instinctively which ones are good and safe to eat for them and half eaten mushrooms are a common sight in the woods, that is the squirrels eating them. But don't imitate them, wild mushroom eating takes a lot of experience and education.

Rose Breasted Grosbeak Contemplates Life in the Bath
In 4K UHD - This young male Rose Breasted Grosbeak seems to be contemplating the meaning of life and he slowly soaks in the Mountain Stream. Grosbeaks are kind of laid back birds in general and great to have around the Backyard!

Dispersed Backyard Bird Feeding for Bird Health and More Enjoyment
What I still consider to be among the best bird behavior footage I ever filmed was a result of natural dispersed bird feeding techniques. Quite simply it is spreading small amounts of bird seed that will be consumed in a few hours at most around various interesting and appealing spots at your location to feed birds while limited the spread of any disease and providing a nice environment for photos, videos and observations. Follow up to my video https://youtu.be/4y0YlEZuGcQ Northern Cardinal Eye Disease - Avian Conjunctivitis to continue feeding sick birds in a safer manner.

Bot Fly Parasites Infest Backyard Wood Rat
Those Botflies got to itch bad - poor thing! A botfly also written bot fly, bott fly or bot-fly and also known as warbles, warble flies, heel flies, and gadflies, are a family of flies technically known as the Oestridae that lay eggs on mosquitoes who then actually transfer the parasite to the host during biting. This unfortunate Florida Woodrat or Eastern Woodrat with three very active Bot flies wiggling all around its neck about ready to "hatch" is attracted to the temporary daytime location of the Painted Bunting feeder which of course I'll have to move now. The Woodrat is a native, mostly ground dwelling rat that loves the dense wet/dry jungle-like woodland sanctuary behind the Backyard. Also called a Packrat it is similar looking to a very large version of a white-footed mouse and kind of cute in its own way (minus the Botflies of course) - with a bit of a "squirrel-like" facial appearance up close. These rats and native cotton rats are a primary food source for the Bobcats and feral cat that live in the "Jungle" behind the Backyard, their lives tend to be short. Fortunately the Florida squirrels have not had botflies for a few years now. If you keep food sources and dense vegetation away from the house these rats wont bother you and stay in the woods where they belong. Also don't put out more food than can be eaten in a day unless your feeders are on a pole with a baffle to keep critters away and no-mess bird seed will help reduce rodent problems.

Eastern Wood PeWee
The eastern wood-pewee is a small olive-brown tyrant flycatcher that is hard to film as it hunts small insects from perches high in mostly deciduous trees. This is the first time I got one on video and they were 20 to 60 feet high in trees at the edge of an opening, their favorite habitat. They are not called Peewee's because they are small, but because their sweet high-pitched calls sound like peewee.
