Mother owl is guarding the nest box in a tree branch nearby so when a Blue Jay plans to enter the nest box she is quick to react and head it off. Adult Blue Jays which are much bigger and tougher than screech owlets will take baby birds that are left unattended, but mother owl wont let that happen are her watch. Of course owls will take Blue Jay nestlings as well so its all part of Nature. These Screech Owls have not taken any birds for food this season as there is an abundance of lizards, small snakes and rats and mice. The live feed is getting wilder each day and continues at:
